Summary
Vanya kisses the palm of his hand, then his forehead, searching for something. Waiting.
But Number Five just looks at her, mourning, the pit of his eyes so achingly lonely that she suddenly has the most horrible feeling that she doesn’t even exist. That she’s made up – that he is dreaming, and she’s dead.
“I miss you,” this boy, still trapped in hell, says to her ghost. And she believes him. “I’m sorry I left you alone.” His face crumples again and he tears his hand away, shaking.

He simply can’t put it off any longer, Five thinks, as he glares resolutely at his reflection in the grimy green-tinged mirror. The sun is already slipping low in the sky, orange light bleeding languorously in through the window and casting a glow across his face. He is in the fifth bathroom on the third floor of the Umbrella Academy mansion, and he is holding a pair of sewing scissors.
Or, two weeks after Five returned from the apocalypse, he can't prolong the inevitable anymore: he NEEDS a haircut. Badly.
This is part of a series! It will make a lot more sense if you've read the first instalment. It's also Five x Vanya, and it cannot be interpreted platonically.

Five’s pointy nose digs into her neck – he is murmuring. “I’m sorry,” he says. “I tried to come back. I’ve been – trying, I swear. I was stuck. I’m sorry. I tried so hard, Vanya, but I’m home—”
“It’s okay,” she whispers, because of course it is. She’s never seen Five this rattled before. She doesn’t even think she’s ever heard him apologise like this before. She squeezes her eyes shut and holds onto him while he trembles and says in a hollow voice, that he is sorry, he is sorry, he is sorry.
But to Vanya, two years is nothing. Two years of absence can easily be forgiven, in return for staying the rest of forever.
An AU where Five spends just two years in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, and then comes home.

Summary
Connected fiveya stories set in an AU where Five spends two years in the apocalypse, then returns to the Academy and Vanya (two years after he left).
Written mostly to practice kissing, so there is a lot of smooches and fluff, but also the typical angst that comes along with these characters. Stories will be connected, however the 'plot' is pretty loose and they can most likely be read alone as long as you have the basic understanding of the AU.
Also worth noting that in this series I interpret the characters as teammates and/or classmates in a boarding school, rather than as siblings.
