Summary
Shouto is an adult. He’s an adult, and a hero, and he’s taken down more blood-thirsty villains than he can count. There’s no longer fear in his heart when a knife is drawn, or his life is otherwise threatened on the battlefield. It’s a strength of his — that ability to squash his fear until it’s nothing more than an afterthought.
Unfortunately, that fear doesn’t translate to bugs.

Summary
There was a specific kind of noise that belonged exclusively to the living.
It wasn't the screaming of a collapsing battlefield or the rhythmic thud of a failing pulse.
It was the thick, heavy, suffocating warmth of a dozen pro heroes unwinding after a successful raid. Inside the private dining room, the air smelled of roasted beef and spilled sake, vibrating with a loud, unbothered safety.
It was happy loud. The kind of noise that meant you had survived the trenches.
Katsuki sat with his spine perfectly rigid against the backing of the wooden booth, his fingers curled around a glass of water, realizing he couldn't breathe.
The war was over. The dead had been mourned. The living had been celebrated. Everyone around him looked alive.
Katsuki wasn't sure he remembered how.
The world saw heroes who had survived.
Katsuki only saw what the war had left behind.
The aftermath, and all that remained.
