Summary
Rocket is captain of the Guardians and with a (mostly) healed body. Meti is a successful vet on Knowhere and helping care for a sprawling nature preserve. On top of this, they have a beautiful family, including their youngest, Skye, who is turning thirteen soon and going to be going to a coming of age ceremony on Meti's home planet. Skye is their biological child, and being part genetically-enhanced super solider, and part Celestial, and part of an ancient and obscure race, her potential power draws the attention of her grandfather... But Ego can't make the trip himself. No, he's too busy with other plans. So he sends a bounty hunter named Blackjack O'Hare to do his dirty work. Who is this new person, and why's he so familiar with Rocket and Met's pasts that they've been so vague to Skye about? The peaceful life Meti and Rocket worked so hard may be in danger as they know it.
