Harry grew up elbows deep in engines alongside Sirius, fixing up lawnmowers for the stuck up residents of Little Whinging, Surrey, who only barely tolerated them. Then he received a letter on his eleventh birthday, was introduced to the reality of magic and flying motorbikes, bonded to a cute but bloodthirsty snake, and discovered that even in a magic school, he still didn't fit in. If he knew being sorted into Slytherin would come with so much backlash, he would have just stayed home.
His sole consolation was that the library at Hogwarts was quiet and filled with so many books on magical theory. With the help of his new friend Hermione, an idea formed about how to marry magic and muggle technology that would make it safe and reliable. If only Draco Malfoy would leave him alone long enough to do his research.
