Most of the 118 are lawyers in this AU, except for Eddie, who is a television star on a show run by Tommy Kinard, an evil man who destroyed the show by killing off its main character and refusing to follow through with obvious foreshadowing and character development in prior episodes. I hate Tommy, so he's a stand-in for someone else here (which you can guess all on your own). This self-indulgent story is the story of how Buddie begins -- both as lovers and, eventually, as something other than the careers they have in this alternate universe. It is not RPF and differences are intentional.

Summary
So what if Lucifer just stayed? Wouldn't everyone have been happier? Well, maybe not. This short one-shot is my way of reconciling Season 6, and it's entirely canon-compliant. In my head, this is what happened. I think it's a happy ending. There are some dark themes in here, but they are necessary to make the point I'm trying to make, which is that Season 6's blip might have been the only way to prevent an even greater tragedy, and AmenaGod made it as easy as he could on Lucifer and Chloe.
I'm not a fiction writer, and this hasn't been beta'd, but I wanted to post it on the anniversary of Season 6.
