Two years after her marriage to King Charles I of England, the Queen Consort Henrietta Maria, eighteen years old, returns to France to visit her brother, King Louis XIII. As a Catholic, she is not popular in England, and barely speaks the language. Once out of England, it would suit some if she did not return. It would suit others if she were to die in France.
