“Oh, sweetie, what happened?” Mom coos gently, coming around the couch. But then her lips press into a frown at the grey mess of crumpled plastic and wires sitting on the coffee table. “And what happened to the DVD remote?”
Alex levels her with a pointed look of, what do you think?
“Kara had Kenny over,” Alex whispers fruitlessly for Kara’s benefit, as the girl still jerks like Alex’s voice is a gunshot. “They watched a movie.”
Mom takes a grounding breath. “What movie?” she whispers back.
Alex winces. “A New Hope.”

Kara Danvers is a terrible human being.
Not just because she lied to Lena and led her on for years on end about her origins — Lena, for the most part, has forgiven her for that by now — but because Kara is dreadfully awful at pretending to be human. When all the signs are put together, it’s so painfully obvious in hindsight that sometimes Lena wants to bash her head into a wall.

“Ahsoka…” An all too familiar voice breathed out.
Her eyes snapped open and she had flipped onto her feet, white blades raised defensively within an instant. Mostly because Anakin Skywalker was right in front of her, not Vader. But it was still the same man who was actively trying to put a lightsaber through her heart less than fifteen minutes ago.
“Ahsoka,” His voice was soft. “It’s me… Anakin.” Her old master's face was deeply conflicted as he peacefully raised his hands in the air. “You’re safe.”
She held back her scoff. She knew she was in the past, it was painfully obvious at this point, but that didn’t stop her from being wary.
