    He tried to vocalize his objections, but Geralt just shook his head. “Easy. You’re the only dragon they’ve captured, so they won’t want you to fight. Not until they have a second dragon. They parade around their more ‘exotic monsters’ for their guests, but they only make you fight if they’re willing to let you die. You likely won’t have to put up with that unless they catch another dragon.”
    They shouldn’t have even been able to catch him. Dragons were always careful to never be seen, and never be caught. He’d been taught from hatching that he was to run away from fights, and never engage. There weren’t enough dragons left for him to be getting caught up in any battles.

    Or: Dragon Jaskier gets captured by humans, and finds comfort with the Witcher he shares a cell with.

    Yennefer took a deep breath, trying to calm the helpless panic that started to creep into her chest at the witcher's lack of care. She muted her voice to a near whisper, knowing full well that he would still be able to hear her, and called after him, in a final, desperate bid for his help:

    “He was smuggling elves out of Redania!”

    The witcher stopped abruptly.

    She could see how his shoulders tensed, as he stood there, stock still at the end of the street. Nothing happened for a long moment.

    And then, he turned his head, his eyes truly locking on hers for a second time. Only they were different now. Still gold and piercing, but serious. Without a trace of the previous contempt.

    “Fuck.”

    Yennefer is fruitlessly searching for Jaskier after he gets kidnapped in Oxenfurt.

    Then, she runs into Lambert.
