Spinning around, she made her way back towards Jack. Still on the couch, he had turned towards her, almost like he was watching her walk out the door. “Yeah?”
She saw the hesitation on his face, the look of someone trying to decide if they wanted to spill their guts or swallow everything down. After a moment, he came to a decision, one she didn’t like. “Nothing, nevermind. Enjoy your date.”
Samira nodded her head before walking away. Not sure if it was regret about her decision or anger at his, she let out a, “don’t wait up” before heading out the door.
