Summary
Lance's spent the last year unfrozen trying to become accustomed to Earth, as he was told by his adoptive family, and to try to find his dearest companion in order to fly back out into the vast emptiness of space and get his revenge. Never mind that the emptiness he anticipates there mirrors the emptiness on his arms that's been with him since his birth millennia past.
Keith has always wanted to fit in, to march along to the beat set by the Galra Empire, but he can't fly under the radar, he's never been able to. He's always been the top of his class, the model Galra soldier, rumors of advanced placement coming his way, when he helps apprehend a small group of humans on a rescue mission, and his life is forever changed. He's finally got a name, a person attached to one of the familiar, foreign strings of changing writing on him, and after a year together planning, making sacrifices, Shiro and Keith are ready to escape.
Pidge has lost her brother in an unforeseen tragedy, at least that's what the Garrison and the rest of Earth is calling it, but she knows better. She's going to get her brother back, no matter what, and she's going to find out what happened to her soulmates if it kills her, which it just might. -

The shrill noise that came from the other side of Steve's bedroom wall had him groaning and pressing his palms over his eyes. At almost four in the morning, he'd been kept awake by screaming and wailing since he'd initially tried to sleep six hours ago.
Enough was enough.

“Thanks,” Steve says, glancing at their oddly mismatched rides - his own truck and Eddie's gleaming new motorbike. Custom-made, so he can handle it safely with his bad leg. “I still miss the Beemer, but this one's a lot more practical.”
Eddie hums. “I'm sure Christy digs it.”
“Kristen,” Steve corrects. “And I wouldn't know. Haven't seen her in weeks.”
Eddie gasps. “I thought she was the one?”
Steve snatches the cigarette and takes a long drag.
“Yeah. It's hard with people who weren't there. I doubt I'll ever find the one. Or rather… I think I did find them, a long time ago, but I fucked things up beyond repair, and now I must be content with their friendship.”

Summary
Steve Harrington learned to play piano when he was young, home alone while his parents were God knows where. He stopped when the Upside Down came into his life, rearing its ugly head.
But the Upside Down is over, now, and Steve is learning that he's allowed to feel safe again. And in that journey, he goes back to piano, and eventually learns to share it with his new family.
(Or: Eddie Munson being and aggressively supportive boyfriend who kind of forces Steve out of his comfort zone, but it's okay, because it ends well and Steve wasn't really all too upset about it anyway)
