    No one leaves Hawkins for good, no matter how early they escape or how far they run. The town itself was a black hole; it was unfortunate that Henry had to learn that the hard way.

    Rather, Henry Creel escapes HNL on his own in 1962. Given that he's had a greater number of years to be a (somewhat) normal person than he had being treated as monster and test subject alike (circumventing the ideologies which necessitated his exile into the Upside Down in 1979), his involvement in the events of 1983 and beyond is just a touch different.

    Also known as: A solid friendship with Bob Newby and a bachelor's degree in entomology with an emphasis on arachnids would have fixed Henry Creel. Prove me wrong.
