So he exists in a life that remembers him as a boy who didn’t survive, while carrying ten years of another world where he did.
Two timelines. One body.
Everything's different, and what's worse is Peter's different; he's not the thirteen-year-old they lost, and they aren't the people Peter lost either.(or: older canon Peter Parker wakes up in the ideal fanon Avengers universe where everyone survived except him, and nothing about being alive again feels like a second chance.)

He’d been reckless letting him go to Germany, but he needed to see what the kid was made of, to satisfy his own curiosity if nothing else. And he was impressed. More than impressed. He was affirmed that he’d made the right choice in seeking the kid out. In giving him the resources he needed. But now he needed him to stick to the streets. No more missions. No Avengers. Keep tabs, but don’t encourage any reckless behavior. The more Tony interfered personally, the more danger the kid could get himself into. But by god this kid - this selfless, reckless kid - was going to be the actual death of him, not to mention the death of himself. And the worst part: Tony would have no one but himself to blame.
Or: the events of Spider-Man Homecoming as experienced by the one and only Tony Stark.
