Summary
Iruka knew what he was agreeing to when he volunteered to be a touchstone for one of Konoha's ANBU.
No mission questions. No classified information. Keep the medical ket stocked. Call for help when necessary. And most importantly, give them somewhere outside of ANBU to go when they need it.
Then Hatake Kakashi topples through his window at two in the morning.
It turns out that giving someone somewhere to go is considerably more complicated than the paperwork suggested.

Summary
“I don’t care about my name.” Kakashi finally spits, that vitriolic pang rising in his chest once again.
But argument falls on deaf ears, Iruka’s mind is made up, not when there's too much on the line. He pays him no heed as he pours two cups of tea. The scent of chrysanthemum perfumes the air in a plume of something sweet and smooth. Two cups of liquid gold sit suspended in clear glass as Kakashi’s heart catches in his throat.
Iruka doesn’t wait for him, bringing one cup to his lips, “I do.”
Kakashi reaches out to stop him, “Hey wait—"
Despite its scent, it goes down with an acrid taste, hiding the drug that’s hidden inside of it. Bitter and sweet, better and worse, sickness and health, poverty and wealth. A balmy wind cools the back of Kakashi's neck and the scent of late blooms herald an easier season. Blooming and wilting, an antithesis bound together forever. That’s what this whole farce is about, right?
