First off, this story was inspired by TheTartWitch's story "without choking on my own air"
When Jack falls into the ice his mutant gene activates to save him, years later he meets Logan and forms a mutual friendship over the fact that they can't really die.

Turns out, once Lan Wangji has him in his grip, Wei Wuxian has peculiar trouble freeing himself.Or alternatively, the fic that was born from my fascination with how effortlessly Lan Wangji could hold coreless Wei Wuxian down during the stolen Poenix Mountain kiss and what that might mean in a different setting.

Wei Wuxian dies during the siege of the Burial Mounds thinking, at the very least, he’s earned some peace.
He’s wrong. His soul doesn’t scatter to the void. No, it’s caught, pinned, and informed – very politely – that this is what happens when you break the rules of the living and the dead in the same lifetime.“You stepped beyond mortal bounds,” he’s told. “You created an abomination that should never have existed...”
And Heaven, apparently, has time to hold a grudge.
So, as punishment: he doesn’t get to rest. Not in this afterlife. His soul becomes bound to resentment itself, condemned to rise again wherever the cry for vengeance is strong enough to drag him back. Whoever they are, whatever they’re suffering, whatever they can’t finish – that’s his problem now.
Strangers’ faces. Strangers’ lives. Strangers’ revenge plots.
He wakes in the middle of all of them, expected to put things right with whatever strength the body has left. And of course he does, because it’s not like saying “no” has ever worked out for him.
Resentment calls.
Wei Wuxian answers.And it doesn’t take long for the living to realize the Yiling Patriarch never actually stayed dead.

Summary
Eren would have preferred to stay far way from the walls and the people within for the rest of his life, when an illness befell his mother. It forced him to seek medicine for her and he found himself returning to his old home Shinganshina, Mikasa and Armin at his side.
He had wanted it to be a simple get in and get out mission, to take what they needed and never look back again. To return home unseen and unbothered. However, on the way back, their packs heavy with stolen goods, he heard the sounds of battle, the sounds of desperate screams and violent deaths and found himself unable to turn away.
He saved the lives of two soldiers that day and unknowingly, he touched the course of fate, shifting it towards something that could bring the brightest morrow, if only he allowed it. If only he could bring himself to trust others again with who he truly was.
