Sasha looks over at Mikasa and smiles. “Thanks, Mikasa. For having my back, and cheering me up, and…just being a great friend. I appreciate you, you know that?”
Mikasa feels her face heat up. It has to be the sunset right? Yes, of course. She sends a small smile to Sasha. “I know. Thank you. You’re…not so bad yourself.”
Sasha laughs at this, like she does at almost anything. Mikasa is content to simply stand and listen to the pretty sound, basking in the warmth of Sasha’s presence and the golden light of the sunset.
Neither says a word when Sasha slides closer to Mikasa.
And when Sasha lays her hand over Mikasa’s, and Mikasa doesn’t pull away, well, they’re the only two in the world who need to know about it.

Big, green eyes that peer up at Grace in a way that's intelligent, curious, and unmistakable.
Emily, tiger plush nowhere to be seen, slowly approaches. In turn, Grace kneels down so they can be of equal eye level.
She's shaking so badly, her knees feel like they're going to drill through the floor.
“Is that really you?” Emily asks, in that same, scared little voice she used when they first met. Grace never wants to hear it ever again. “Grace?”
“Hi Emily.” Emily gasps. Grace smiles through her tears. “Will you come here, baby?”
Emily comes home on a Tuesday.
