Summary
“I am out for the season?”
“Probably."
“Are you by any chance looking for a trophy husband?”
“Ilya.”
“Yes? No?”
“It’s one season, Ilya, we’re not—it’s bad because you’re hurting, not because—I’m not letting this fuck anything up for us, okay? We’ll figure something out,” Shane says, resolutely.
or, you know what they say about the best laid plans

Summary
Shane doesn't mean to say it, the first time. It's just that he's only been with women, he tells himself. It's just the way he hears the guys talk in the locker room. It's just the words he knows, the ones he defaults to in the moment of passion.
Or, what happens when Shane's id has some ideas about new things to say in the bedroom and Ilya is 100% on board.
