“Fuck.” Sounding like there aren’t any other words in his vocabulary, Kidd presses a little too hard and Killer winces, closing his eyes. That gets him a rapid shake to the shoulder. “Kil, dammit, look at me.”
But he can’t. He feels like he’s falling, like the world is slanting and tossing him into a pocket of void. “Sorry, captain,” he mumbles again, and the last thing he feels before he loses consciousness is Kidd dragging him into his arms.
