Summary
Lan Zhan stayed up, a single candle lit on the table, a warm meal covered on the table, waiting for when Wei Ying returned, kept warm by a talisman that Wei Ying himself had created - unwilling to allow for Lan Zhan to eat cold food when he could find means to keep it as warm as it was when it was taken off the pan.
All he could do was wait.
Wait for the moment Wei Ying’s misery was overrun by his desire to sleep in their bed, to be comforted by the lingering scent of sandalwood that permeated their home.
Wait for Wei Ying to reappear, looking for comfort he didn’t know was waiting for him, not knowing that Lan Zhan had returned back to Cloud Recesses - and that he would never leave him again.

Summary
Alastor had heard the rumors, everyone has, and as rare as whispers about the Morningstar family were, the truth is that there's no escaping something such as being abandoned by one's mate.
Perhaps that is why it wasn't exactly surprising to receive a message asking for his services, simply signed with that infamous last name. Alastor is choosing not to think about how his information reached such high spheres of society. Regardless of that, Alastor has a job to do, and will do so, even if things might not go as planned.
They never do, why should he even be surprised?

Summary
Throughout the hotel,Alastor keeps "accidentally" running into Lucifer before it is revealed that he is purposefully circling Lucifer. Both of them don't want to talk about the dangerous habit that grows out of this irritation. In the end, Lucifer makes a deal that allows Alastor to stand between him and the things that want to harm him, even though Lilith might still be trying to retake the throne and someone could still come very close to the Devil, that might be the safest and scariest thing he's done in a long time.
Lucifer paused at the door, then glanced back.
“Come to my room later.”Alastor’s smile sharpened. “Oh?”
Lucifer frowned. “For the actual deal. Obviously.”
“How formal,” Alastor said.
Lucifer laughed. “Don’t make it weird.”
“I would never.”
