Walking into Green Hill, everything warped to her senses when the grass was no longer green and the scent of iron filled the air. From there, she spotted the fabled blue blur in the distance, and then the world that she used to know began to crumble at her feet. Would she able to save the hedgehog's disarray and misfortune or give into the sickening song of corpses?

He grasped the locket that hung by his neck in fear, hidden behind the thick jacket that he wore on his back. A promise that was shared between two friends, each filled with the young and naïve hope and faith that only appeared with the ignorance that a child could hold. A promise that only one now holds. Held tightly between the shaky hands covered by two worn out gloves and a similarly worn out heart.
The young teen took in another gasp of a breath. One that reminded him that he was still alive, away from the danger.
“I made it out,” he whispered as a tear trailed down his face, afraid that if he made a sound too loud that he would find him, “I made it out Blaze. Just like we promised.”

Summary
By the time they reached the edge of the forest, the sun began poking out over the horizon again, bathing the rolling hills in warm, golden light. To the side, the rays caught on something, reflecting back in an ever-changing pattern as the wind caused gentle waves to wash over the lake. Its surface resembled liquid metal more closely than water like this, Belle decided. It wasn't her first sunrise with a view of a body of water—and it wouldn't be her last—but that didn't mean it wasn't still unique. Even if she stayed in this exact spot, it wouldn't look the same tomorrow. The clouds would've long since moved on, and the wind might get stronger, or weaker, or she wouldn't see the lake at all because fog had taken over the landscape.
Like everything else, this moment would pass. All Belle could do was cherish it as it happened.
Just after Metal joins Belle on her travels, she stops at a lake to take in the scenery. Despite their peaceful surroundings, Metal remains on edge.
