(Post-Z2) Bogo scolds N&J after they’re recorded dancing to a Gazelle song in public whilst on duty, reads a series of “complaints” that are actually thirst comments, lets them go with a warning.
This was pretty cute.

Summary
Officer Fangmeyer is tasked with giving Officers Wilde and Hopps a ride home in the aftermath of the Lynxley's arrest. He's trying really hard not to notice them cuddling and fussing over each other in the back seat...
Weren't they supposed to be a "dysfunctional partnership"??

Summary
Judy and Nick are given a task that seems more like a fun getaway: providing a little security for the annual Bunnyburrow Fall Harvest Festival. But things aren't as peaceful as they may now be in Zootopia, and the two cops are thrust into a brand new caper - solved with the help of a certain pastry-baking fox from Judy's past.

Good fic with solid writing and a decent intrigue. An authentic-feeling depiction of small-town life interwoven with themes of bigotry, trauma, generational attitudes, and – of course – redemption. I’ll be checking out the sequel next.
I do have a couple bones to pick, though.
Some bellyachin’ (spoilers, click to view):
First, a good 20% of the word count or more could have been sliced out with some rigorous editing; there’s a lot of introspective exposition here, much of which is either unnecessary or could be condensed from several paragraphs into one. Second, the pacing and structuring often frustrated me; this fic practically delights in making the reader wait for things they want to see. Something big will happen at the end of a chapter, and then we have to wait until up to halfway through the next chapter before we see what came of it.
Still, complaints and personal bugaboos aside, I don’t regret reading this one. If anything, YFWE has only improved considerably in the years since.

Sequel to "The Redemption of Gideon Grey." A murder shakes up Bunnyburrow days before a hotly contested mayoral election, and there's a chance they're related. An unlikely team -- with help from afar thanks to a certain fox and rabbit duo -- sets out to solve it.
(Post-Z2) A few months after The Redemption of Gideon Grey, Gideon has unexpectedly become friends with Belle Thumper, whose sister Bernice mysteriously turns up dead in a river. Convinced it was no accident and that the local police are ineffective at best, they rope their friends Sharla and Bobby Catmull – and, eventually, Nick and Judy – into their investigation, which ultimately reveals a speciesist conspiracy driven by a shadowy prey-supremacist group that wants to install one of their own as Bunnyburrow’s next mayor. A number of mooks (and Bernice’s own father, who accidentally killed her after she learned too much) end up jailed, but the group’s leaders get away, setting up a sequel.
I’m enjoying this one more than the prequel, as it mostly avoids the issues I had with that one.
Really hope it updates soon.It did! Ends nicely, with a li’l tease at the end setting up a continuation.(Prequel: The Redemption of Gideon Grey | Sequel: TBA?)
