Simon is dying. He might already be dead. That stupid fucking eel might have killed him and brought him back just to fuck with him some more before killing him again. No one is coming to save him. He's going to die here— alone and forgotten. He just wants to live.
A pinhole God takes pity on this broken, desperate, hopeful man— sacrificed for the good of humanity in a sea of blood and dead stars. Digging through the folds of space and time, it finds another pinhole— another broken, desperate, and hopeful man sacrificed for the good of humanity. A star saver.
Yes, he will do, and they will live, and we will see the answer together.
A flash of light, unravelling, a flood of blood, and both of them are convinced they're hallucinating. But you can't touch a hallucination, and Simon still has that fucking eel in his head.
Or: slow burn PHM plot starting pre-rocky, this time with more trauma, learning to trust, and bloodymary!

Summary
Blood is dripping dribbling out from the man's lips. His blood.
Grace anticipates horror. Shock. Anger. Phrases like "Oh my God", "I'm sorry", "Who are you" or "Stay away from me", not:
"You're a cannibal." Spits— for all intents and purposes currently— the cannibal here.
With all the melodrama of a token sci-fi, skimpy-clothed love interest, Ryland proceeds to pass out.
When Ryland Grace and a team of Eridians rescue a human on a distant moon, he expects a myriad of things. Not one of them is contracting an alien, blood-borne and strangely cancerous disease after said human bites a chunk out of his shoulder.
While Ryland searches for a cure to their new disorder and unraveling the mystery of Blip-A's new movements, Simon is found and must learn freedom outside of death or escape. This idea is complicated by singing alien rocks and the only other human.
