Nines’ stoic expression softens. For a moment you see the rare vulnerability in his eyes that never fails to make your heart flutter, and you pause momentarily to swallow the lump in your throat. Focus, focus. You could be professional enough to avoid letting your feelings for him interfere with your work.
“Of course, Doctor.”
You press the bandage against his shoulder, willing it to seal faster while you turn what has been said over and over in your mind. Unlike Connor, Nines stayed steadfast to his nature as a machine and deliberately refused to adopt a human figure of speech to describe his processes, citing that it wouldn’t be entirely accurate. Translating ‘some error in the weightage of his priorities’ sounded like it had something to do with emotions rather than logic–that Nines, irrationally, wanted something that involved you more so than ensuring his safe repair.
A horribly injured Nines–at least, by your standards (and not his own)–shows up at your door against all logic.

Summary
The laundry would be mysteriously done and folded and hung neatly in their respective closets. The leaking faucets and creaking doors would be oiled up and fixed, and perhaps an upgrade or two might already be on their way. The floors would be vacuumed, swept, mopped to spotlessness and there would be no sign of the phantom that had done it all within a single night. The house might even provide the impression that it is self-sustaining, self-upgrading, self-repairing. If Nines truly put his mind to it, he could very impressively devise a strategy to avoid every other occupant of the house while still living within it.
All of this is true. And yet so is the converse. Nines is an android. Androids need little to function, and have all the hours in the day to go about accomplishing chores even after their shifts at the precinct. But Nines is also deviant. And the point that started the revolution in the first place was the topic of want.
Ever since you and Nines moved into an apartment together, he's gotten a lot better at the whole 'wanting things' part of deviancy.

Summary
Satoru hears shuffling again and unravels the couch blanket from where it’s become bunched up around him so that Suguru can take an end of it to get comfy. As he’s disentangling himself, the footsteps pass him and recede into the hallway. He looks up and Suguru is gone, and the light in the kitchen is off.
Well that’s not right.

Or: Suguru gets stomach pains after swallowing curses. Satoru notices something is wrong and does something about it.

"Don’t." Jude gasped, already scrambling out of the booth. His legs nearly buckled, the world tilting with need. "Headache. Tired. I’m—I’m going. Don’t follow."
He fled before Erling could respond, shouldering through the crowd, hot and dizzy and terrified.
Every step sent a jolt of emptiness through him, his hole clenching around nothing, slick soaking his boxers. The omega inside him was screaming, crying, begging to turn around and crawl into the alpha’s lap. Jude bit his lip until he tasted copper and kept moving.
Erling watched him go, heart pounding a war drum against his ribs. Every instinct he had demanded he chase— the omega was in distress, his omega, entering heat in a dangerous place.
But Jude had said don’t follow.
