Summary
When Midoriya was 8 years old he was severely injured after getting in-between his father and All Might as they fought in the battle of the century. He spends the next 8 years living with Pro Heroes Eraserhead and Present Mic, fighting for his life everyday as he battles the sickness that is slowly killing him.
One day him and his newly adopted sister Eri are captured by the League of Villians, a new group that is giving their father's homeroom class hell. While their parents struggle to get them home, Izuku suffers slowly without his medication, his life being siphoned away minute by minute.
Shigaraki is confused at first by the effect that this child marked for death has on his group, but eventually he too finds himself feeling pitiful for the poor boy.

The heroes who were supposed to protect him, betrayed and handed him back to his abusers.
Yet, even after all his suffering, and all the pain he went through, Izuku still wants to save people. He wants to save the people that heroes refuse to. And no one will stop him from doing just that.------
