Summary
The Exalted Council had not been kind to the Inquisitor– face-to-face with Solas, along with the loss of the anchor and subsequently, her arm. These days, she was a shell of her former self and it pained Cullen to watch her face fall further into a state of decay and sadness. A strong and steady friendship is sparked into something new as Cullen surprises the Inquisitor with a few well-earned comforts, wishing to console her.
Some trivial, some thoughtful and kind– and one a little more racy than he’d initially intended. Will he succeed in returning a smile to her weary lips? Maker, he’ll certainly try.

As the sole survivor of a mysterious explosion that took the opportunity for peace with it, Evelyn is thrust into the role of the Herald of Andraste, and it’s with a fair bit of kicking and screaming that she navigates life, love, and preventing the end of the Maker-damned world. But hey, what’s the worst that could happen?
Basically, I wrote a Trevelyan that remembers Cullen from Kinloch Hold and ends up the sorry bastard stuck with a green hand and a duty to the Inquisition. I hope y’all enjoy!

Evelyn Trevelyan looked through the flames at the approaching, unnaturally large, figure. The pain ricocheting through her body was nothing in comparison to the terror that froze her limbs. From a distance, he had seemed so small but mere feet in front of her, she felt entirely dwarfed by the evil Magister. He was deformed – twisted by red lyrium – and it only contributed to his unsettling visage. Evvy pushed herself up from the ground, wincing as she did so, and ignored the crippling pain in her ribs. She needed to focus on this situation; on distracting this monster long enough for the survivors of Haven to make it through the mountains; on surviving herself. Focus.
