She would never forget that name. Her rite of passage. Her first act of goodness. But what were the odds? It couldn’t be a mere coincidence. The druid was broader than she remembered. But that didn’t surprise her. After all, she had barely been a hundred and he was perhaps fifty years her senior when they had met.
Hazel eyes met her own shadowed purple, and time ceased to move. He looked…stricken. Ah but she shouldn’t have expected anything but. The spark of hurt was ruthlessly smothered. Of course he would be horrified to see her.
After all, she had once held his leash.

Honesty. Halsin nodded along with the words, and his expression must have given away his satisfaction because the pink flush of what might have been shame, or anger returned to the vampire's cheeks as he realized that the druid had gotten what he wanted.
“Well, when you choose a favorite I wouldn’t mind hearing about the reasons why you picked it.”
“Is that really the extent of this? You're truly satisfied with just that?”
The accusation; the undiluted confusion was so thick in Astarion’s voice that it nearly dripped off each syllable. His red eyes were narrowed, his body language curling into itself as his shoulders hunched. Halsin reached out, carefully pinching the vampire's chin between his thumb and first finger to halt any further words. A stillness crept over the spawn that spoke louder than any carefully rehearsed speech as the druid considered his answer.

Summary
(ON HIATUS UNTIL: Rewrite is completed. I'm currently working on ch5 of 10 halfway there! Update in notes in first chapter)
Bilba Baggins is living in bag end a few years before the quest for Erebor is due to begin, when her cousin Lobelia buys a dwarf from the slave traders in Buckland and brings him home.
For a few weeks there’s just idle chatter about it, but then one day after the initial talk and their first meeting, Bilba sees the dwarf again after the time spent in her relatives care.
Overcome at the cruelty of her cousin and the state the dwarf is in, she buys the slave from Lobelia and takes him home to Bag End with her to nurse him back to health, not knowing the adventure she has welcomed to her doorstep through her act of kindness.

Summary
What does one do when they find themselves staring down certain death? Do they beg and plead, wheedle and bargain? Or do they fight back with all their might; refusing to go quietly into their oblivion?
Well, either option might be feasible if the one way ticket to unalivement didn't happen to be about 2 feet tall and unable to Actually send an unwanted intruder to whatever end they may subscribe too. You know, due to being barely old enough to eat solid food.
The third option of Running the Fuck Away before the adults notice wins out. So run, as fast as you can. It's far too late, but run.

“My consent?” He runs a hand through his hair and immediately regrets messing it up. “Why—”
Adrian takes a step closer to Grace. He and the rest of the Eridians are at least wearing the xeno-suits, making it easier for Adrian to press up against his leg; a grounding presence. “Life will change a lot. If we take in this human, statement.”
“Yeah, but—”
“You can take time. Think,” Rocky says, kindly, and it’s too much. A life is in his trembling hands.
“No,” Grace puts his palms out in front of him, “No, guys, we need to nurse him back to health. I—I can adapt to another person being in the house. It’ll be...exciting? Yeah, exciting. Please just...please do all you can. Please. Please.”

A new human, inexplicably, shows up on Erid, and Ryland Grace has to remember how to be a good host. Considering he hasn’t seen another human in about a decade, and this human is both distractingly handsome and incredibly traumatized, it’s safe to say that this might be a challenge… especially with Ryland still working through his own issues, even all these years later.
But he saved the entire world, so, how hard could it be to save one more man?

Summary
Grace’s “Spring Break” from teaching the Eridians is cut short when the Eridian scientists dump a feral new human on the beach of his habitat.
Simon and Grace need to contend with their similar traumas, the implications of the Quiet Rapture and humanity’s disappearance, the knowledge that it’s been over 300 years since Grace left earth, and the growing tension between them.
Turns out when you are stuck in an alien bubble with the only other human left that you know of and you start to catch feelings.. things can get a little explosive.
Bonus: Simon teaches the Eridians a whole load of new human expletives.

Wordlessly, they flick a switch, and the noise is played loud enough for the entire room to hear it.
“Please,” a voice sobs, “Please, it hurts- I'm scared, I just- please, I just want to live. Why doesn't anyone else want that? Why can't I- I want to-” it breaks off into more sobbing and the room practically vibrates with tension.
“That-! That is the language spoken by Engineer Rocky's Grace! That is HUMAN language!”
“Yes.”
“There is a human down there?? That shouldn't be-”
“But there is. What now?”
