“Porn? I can throw a rock in this neighborhood and I’m gonna break the window of a porn store.”
March gestured anxiously, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Healy paused. “Ohhhhh. The nasty stuff. Whips and handcuffs. Girls and animals.”
“Close,” March said, grimacing. He really, really didn’t want to have to explain this. “Think more like…. Disco.”
“Disco?” Healy raised an eyebrow. “What, like the queer music? You think the back room of that store is full of porn for… For disco fans.” He nodded thoughtfully a couple of times. “And you’re an expert about this?”
For a second the whole world went white around the edges and March thought he might pass out. He was too sober for this conversation. What exactly had Healy noticed that morning, how obvious exactly had his full-body reaction to Healy’s hand on his neck been? “I was a happily married man!” March said, and as soon as it came out of his mouth he knew it was wrong. Too fast, too high-pitched, too loud.

He glares at Holly, but she just shrugs, forcing him to answer the phone with a blunt, "Who's asking?"
"I'm calling as a representative of the Arizona Police Department, Mr. March. There's been an incident which concerns your family."
"What?" March hasn't been to Arizona. Not in over a decade, and he's pretty confident that unless this woman is talking about a brief stint where he got into a bar confrontation in Phoenix in the 60s, or Holly's been up to some crazy shit without him knowing, she's got the wrong Holland March.
"Sir, am I correct in assuming that you were named by your sister as the emergency guardian for her children in late October of 1963 or not?" She exhales. "There's been an incident regarding the children's father, Mr. March."

Or: Things are finally starting to look up in Holland March's life. Until a call regarding March's estranged family, a murder case being obscured, and his two heavily-traumatised nephews, bursts that bubble. So much for normalcy.

Summary
When Grace gets seemingly teleported by means unknown into the SM-13 right as it was nearing The Light, both Simon and Grace have no idea what is happening. Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Summary
Simon is the new history teacher at Grover Cleveland Middle and he likes his job. A lot. It's fun teaching the kids and it's nice being able to adapt to civilian life. The only hiccup is the science teacher next door.

Summary
Two weeks after the disaster of a conference that was meant to be his academic victory run and the successful start of the rest of his life as a molecular biologist, Ryland Grace escapes to one of Washington’s state parks. Hiding away in his twin brother’s cabin, Ryland has to come to terms with the fact that the life he worked so hard for had slipped right through his fingers because his ego had been larger than his logical brain, and now he’s haunted by a community of scientists and online enthusiasts yearning to run what little is left of his dignity into the ground.
But as a hike, one fuelled mostly by spite because obviously he didn’t learn his lesson just yet, goes south, he’s forced to call the rangers for help. And because life hates him, the ranger who told him not to wander into the woods is the one to take his call.
Something about ranger Simon’s disapproving and definitely disappointed look cuts deeper than he anticipated.
