They stand off like that for a couple seconds before Frank turns to the entrance. "Get out of here," he says, forcing it out like it pains him to say. With his reputation of killing criminals like her by any means necessary, it probably does. But, and she can't imagine him saying it out loud, he cares more about Peter than whatever mission he originally set out to complete.
They have that in common.
It's why, even after his footsteps have long faded away, she ignores the unconscious man she wanted to kill and focuses on monitoring Peter's vitals on the way to the hospital. She even ignores him when he wakes up an hour later and stumbles out of the room to get as far away as possible.
More hours pass before she even thinks about leaving.

It’s a worn out thing, a rusty red color, and MJ had throughly vetted it to make sure it had to no sign of bedbugs, ticks, or other pesky pests, before they’d pulled a Friends’ pivot moment and dragged it up their buildings four flights of stairs in one of the most harrowing moments of Ned’s life- because two fresh college grad’s in New York were not going to pay for movers even if they’d almost died getting the thing up there- and Ned is pretty sure it still smells like beer from some spills at the housewarming party they’d had just a few weeks ago, but all that was a long winded way to say that New York’s crowning vigilante was snoring away on a second-hand couch from Facebook Marketplace.
