Summary
The Clone Wars have just begun. With the Jedi spread thin, 9 year old Cal Kestis doesn't have anyone to help him control his psychometry. With Jaro Tapal in too dangerous a situation to take on a padawan, he's sent to Obi-Wan Kenobi instead, much to the dismay of Anakin. However he and Cal will have to put aside their differences and work together in order to stay alive for the next battle of the Clone Wars.

It got… not exactly easier, as time went by, but more bearable. There was never a time he could forget about it, but he had gotten so used to it that by now that it was normal to him. He wasn’t happy, and sometimes he wished that he’d just died that day ten years ago, but the thought of leaving his brother behind usually put an end to that train of thought."
