    He could feel his cheeks being puffed around the small body, as he started making his way around the demon and slicing it up more, slowly swallowing each piece he separated, a newer, ashy texture with the taste of sawdust and dirt overflowing his mouth.

    “Genya.” Kanao was crouched in front of him. He looked up to see tears in her eyes and a needle in hand. “This… is your antidote.”

    Genya’s eyes widened. He’d helped out Kochou and a demon called Tamayo some weeks before the battle, to create a cure, though he honestly didn’t think it would work. To see his solution, to get to be with Sanemi again, presented right in front of him…
