Summary
Jaskier heard tales that the Path of a witcher is solitary, and Geralt does nothing to discourage them. He is obviously unused to companionship. His body is geometric with tension: his shoulders held in a rigid line, his jaw clenched at a harsh angle. He hasn’t yet doffed a single scrap of his armor, even though it’s well past dark and the bedrolls have been unpacked. Jaskier’s bodice is discarded, her blouse loose and untucked over her breeches. The plunging neckline hasn’t caught Geralt’s eye once—and she’s been paying attention, unsure if she’s driven by curiosity or hope.
He’s almost finished with the pheasant, sucking at the marrow, a sheen of grease over his lips and chin.
Well, maybe, she thinks. I’ve fucked worse.

Summary
Imogen always thought that jealousy was an ugly emotion. That to be possessive over someone you love, to be envious of the attention they pay to others, is a sign of some much needed introspection.
In Gelvaan she knew relationships that crumbled from the inside because of jealousy, hearing the venomous thoughts of husbands who began to resent their wives for even deigning to speak a few minutes too long to a vendor in the marketplace, the poison simmering just below the surface of a girl about her age when her boyfriend mentioned another girl’s name. Much as she tried to block the thoughts out, they still crept in, and maybe nosiness was ugly too, but she couldn’t help it then. All she could do was watch as tensions boiled over into arguments, break ups, even divorces with the most insecure people blaming their spouse for not prioritizing them enough.
She never considered herself a jealous person until she saw Dusk interacting with Laudna.
