It had been a long fourteen years. Sure, that was just how long he had been alive. But if that’s the truth, then what’s wrong with putting the sentiment out there?
He had gone from a warm, loving home.
To a cold, loud orphanage.
Then onto the streets to fend for himself.
But it’s not like he hadn’t been doing that for years already, right? Besides, he had a few friends. And that ridiculous Hero, Hawks, who insisted he was going to be a consistent figure in his life now.
All in all, he was doing pretty good.Until some Villains decided they wanted to come into his life and make it Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition.
He knew there was a reason he had memorized that acronym. FUBAR. It was a very apt description of a lot of things in his life.

Summary
Shouta looked up at the approaching cat. They had been feeding it for nearly a year and had all grown rather fond of it. Hizashi had even nicknamed the cat Tidbit. It was a tiny thing, more like the size of a large kitten really, but the face looked older. Somewhat, at least. It was a fairly common debate in the household about how old the cat actually was. But since they hadn't been able to catch the damn thing and take it to a vet, they had no idea. The cat would never let any of them get closer than around 10 feet. Shouta, Hizashi, and Hitoshi had all tried. Even Nemuri had tried that one time when she was over for game night.
Now, as the cat got closer, it didn't stop at the routine distance from Shouta. Shockingly, it walked right up to him. As it got closer, Shouta got a sinking feeling as to why. The cat was moving quite slowly and covered in patches of blood. One of its eyes was nearly swollen shut. And another First, it meowed at him. A pained and distressed sound. A plead for help.
And by god, if he wasn't going to help this cat.
