The light grew and pulsated around him as the pain from before returned to his body, pulling at his skin and digging its way into his bones. He didn't want to open his eyes, but something with a far stronger will than his own brought him to do it anyway.
And there, in the midst of the illuminating, blinding light, a hand reached out towards him.
It wasn't a conscious thought, but a voice echoed all around him and anchored itself behind his eyes.
