There were, maybe, worse places than Ottawa. Troy wouldn't know. Ottawa seemed pretty high on the list of shit places to be. It was clearly intended as retaliation for his outburst.
The list of good things about Ottawa could be counted on one hand. The Mediterranean place near the hotel the Guardians tended to stay at was spectacular. Troy always hoped there was enough time he could stow away and scarf down some hummus. The locker rooms had stalls that were just an inch or two wider than the ones at other stadiums, and that meant both his shoulder pads and knee pads could be hung up in a row instead of staggered. They were an easy win.

“Mind your own business, Marly,” says Roz. “She doesn’t want to talk to me.” Marleau’s eyes are on the road, so he doesn’t see what Roz is doing, but he must hang up, because the buzzing stops.
“Dude,” says Marleau, and gives Roz a look. He’s turned to the window, so Marleau can’t even see his face. He persists anyway. “Obviously she does. I mean, maybe you don’t want to talk to her, but she–”
He’s interrupted by the phone buzzing again, and they both fall silent, so it’s the only noise in the car other than the clunky heater currently on blast.
“Roz, it might be urgent,” says Marleau seriously. He hopes Roz hasn’t gotten her pregnant or anything.
In which the Metros' plane makes an emergency landing, instead, and Shane calls Ilya from on board.
