Summary
Jason didn’t even remember getting dressed. One moment, he was grabbing his backpack; the next, he was sprinting halfway across campus, sliding into the back row of his 8 AM lecture, barely even winded.
Then his classmate gave him a look. Then two classmates did. Then three.
Then someone muttered, “Dude, if you’re gonna cosplay Red Hood, at least carry the helmet. Coward.”
Jason blinked.
He looked down.
There was a red bat across his chest.
Oh no.
In which Jason goes viral after accidentally showing up to class in his Red Hood gear. Dick tries to make it better. Tim might have made it worse. The rest of his siblings are just enjoying the memes.

Summary
Let it be a reminder, Alfred had said, of this pain you are trying so hard to bury. Even you cannot shut yourself off from it, and I will not allow you to.
Bruce hadn’t had the heart to tell him that he hadn’t needed the reminder. That there was an empty space lodged in his chest, the space where Jason should have been and no longer was, and that the pain had taken root there. Taken root and sprouted, its branches entwining with the pieces of himself that remained. There was no burying the pain because it lived there now, down in that hollow pit, and to pull it out would be to pry open his ribcage and see the emptiness within.
In which Bruce still keeps the past on display, even as the present slips through his fingers.

Summary
Jason groaned, pressing the heels of his hands to his eyes hard enough to see little bursts of light. Damn it. He could feel his anger dissipating, gone as quickly as it came, and he hated himself a little for it. Hated himself a little more for feeling that rush of anger in the first place.
Because he remembered this—Bruce checking in on him before bed, no matter how grueling the night’s patrol had been or how late the hour was. How often had Jason, dazed and half-asleep, found Bruce standing silhouetted in the doorway to check if he was truly asleep or if he was staying up to read under the covers? Bruce used to do it every night without fail, and Jason didn’t know what to feel knowing that the habit still persisted.
As if they were right back to how things were before, like no time had passed. As if Jason was still his son.
Jason died, then he clawed his way back. But the truth is rarely so simple. Sometimes, when he sleeps, his body forgets how to lie.

Summary
There was blood on Jason’s neck.
A thin, rust-colored line just below his jaw. Faint, but stark under the lights. Jason hadn’t wiped it. He didn’t seem to know it was there. The cut was small. Shallow. Already scabbing over. Not even worth a bandage—but enough to lodge sharply in Bruce’s mind like a splinter he couldn’t dig out.
Because it had been close. Too close to the beating artery in Jason’s throat. Had the cut been any closer, sliced any deeper, there would have been more blood still, gushing out to pool beneath him, enough to choke on, enough to drown in.
Bruce willed himself to look away.
In which a minor injury brings up some unwanted memories. Bruce isn’t sure which haunts him more—the death or the return.
