Summary
Emily wakes up disoriented, bound, and drugged in a dark, damp room, with no memory of how she got there. She realizes she’s been captured along with her partner, JJ. When the captors appear, Emily is injected and loses consciousness. Later, she wakes up to JJ freeing her, and the two piece together that they were kidnapped while investigating a human trafficking ring operating through nightclubs.
Before they can escape, three men—one in a suit—enter. The suited man reveals their horrific plan: to exploit Emily and JJ, both FBI agents, for profit by forcing them into degrading acts on camera. He threatens JJ’s husband and children to ensure compliance and uses Emily’s feelings for JJ to manipulate them further. Powerless and terrified, the women realize the depth of their captor’s control as the bass from the club above echoes like a countdown to what’s coming next. -

“No.” Emily says, voice measured. “I fucking hate it. It’s too early for you to be in the field,” despite the fact JJ had gone when they’d gotten The Disciple, “and it’s too early for you to go undercover. This team hasn’t sent an agent undercover in too long. And for it to be you? I won’t sign off on this.” She growls. JJ can clearly tell she’s about to claw her own hair out.
“More women will die if you don’t. And if we don’t go undercover, the unsub will cross state lines. And she’ll just start all over again.” JJ says, eyes narrowed.
“JJ. I will not let you go undercover and pretend to love who you don’t. Especially after losing who you did.” Emily’s fists clench at her sides. It was low, but a needed blow. Rossi is still quiet, glancing between the two women. It was like two immovable objects meeting the same unstoppable force. That force represents disagreement.✿
Vaguely based off both Casual by Chappell Roan and Forget Her by Jeff Buckley (r.i.p). Kinda. Anyway, TLDR, this is a s19 rewrite that stems from an undercover case. Cheating is implied, although Will is dead now, but still!
