Stiles pushes Derek’s hand off of him, and Derek lets him. Stiles sits up. Derek sits up. They stare at one another. Stiles tries to laser through right to his dumb idiot fucking brain. “What did you just say?”
“I mean it,” he says, and of course he does, because he means everything he says, is not one for saying things he does not mean. “I’ll pay you whatever you want if you only sleep with me.”
“This is not Pretty fucking Woman,” Stiles barks at him, and now, for whatever reason, he’s insulted. “You can’t just –“
“Why not?” He demands.

All consuming. Couldn't put my phone down. Mom called and I asked her if it was important, it wasn't, so I told her desperately and urgently that I was reading and in the middle of something. My begging must've reached her, because we hung up seconds after.
I love stories that follow characters on and on. I love stories with seemingly real people with real thoughts, feelings and relationships. Watching a relationship grow, whilst there's plot beside that? Wonderful.
I don't know if I could re-read this though. I'll have to give it time. See how the feeling of the stories setels within me. My only hesitation is the repetition. Stiles looping and unfounded anxiety thought grate on me. So much. Maybe it's because they're so much like min. I want him to accept everything Derek says first time he says it. Maybe it frustrates me because it reminds me or friends I've had, or myself. Myself. Despite someone telling you over and over again it just.... you *know* they aren't lying, but you can't believe them.
