Summary
Blackrock’s weather was particularly cold and brutal this time of year. Medkit didn't like this cold. In an ideal world, he would choose not to stay in Blackrock, despite how badly seen it was for inphernals to leave their factions. At the limit, he would even be ready to leave behind all the work he's put so much heart into. So what’s really keeping him there?
Despite his conflicted feelings, Medkit cares enough about his colleague, Subspace, not to leave him. If he left, Subspace would despise him, rightfully so. And without Subspace, Medkit would be all alone out there.
Subspace is satisfied with what he has: a plan to achieve greatness and a hardworking coworker by his side. He never did put effort into becoming any closer than colleagues with Medkit, he didn't see the need for it.

Ever since Medkit joined the church. Since he left Blackrock. Since he restarted life. He’s been different. Not as egotistical. More afraid. Very afraid.
And then there’s this kid… who won’t leave him the hell alone. But I guess somehow he feels less afraid knowing that there is someone still out there in the world that genuinely enjoys his company. Someone who cares more about him than his skills and assets.
(A fic about Medkit's early days in lost temple. This focusses mainly on him becoming brothers with Sword but the church is also very heavily prominent in the story.)

Banhammer rolled over onto his side, shivering from the sudden cold of the night. Luckily for him, he knew just the thing to warm himself up. His arm reached out over the bed, stretching out to ensure that he could grab Medkit and steal him away to be in his arms. A shiver rippled down his spine. Fucking hell, it was cold.
His arm sleepily flailed about, trying to find his lover, and yet Banhammer just couldn’t seem to reach him. Despite his exhaustion, he cracked open one pair of eyelids, searching for Medkit’s figure in the dark of their room.
But the other half of the bed was empty. The covers pulled down and bunched up, evidence that an escape was made sometime earlier in the night. Banhammer groaned and rolled onto his back, half-tempted to just close his eyes and drift back into sleep.
Unfortunately, he was worried. Despite how much he bullied himself about it, he really did care about Medkit. He loved him too desperately to ignore his absence. And if that wasn’t enough? Banhammer was still cold. Freezing, actually. And keeping Medkit tucked warmly against his chest seemed like too welcoming of an idea for him to give up on it.
