She sees him again. The man from the bar, this time at the bus stop. The one she takes when she’s running late for work. He doesn’t notice her and she pretends to not notice him, passing briskly on the sidewalk and continuing on her way.
They are two separate lines that happen to have a point of intersection. That’s it. That’s all it is, all it ever will be.

Summary
Sokka finds himself searching for any reason to stay in the Fire Nation after the war. To stay with Zuko and Suki even after the rest of their friends have left and months stretch into years. First he's a guest, then the ambassador of the Southern Water Tribe, and then, well, he's yet to find out what comes next. But he's useful here, so he stays, and there's no other reason for it.
Suki is happy to be a part of Zuko's guard. He trusts her and her motivations, and she gets to stay close to her friend. To two of her friends because Sokka hasn't left yet either. She wasn't really prepared for the way his time is stolen from them, though, but she works around it anyways. All she can do is hope beyond reason that peace is exactly that, peaceful.
Zuko is Firelord now. He wasn't born for it, quite a ways down the succession line at birth, but there was a brief time where he was raised for it. Not enough. The work is hard, and peace makes it harder. But beside him are Suki and Sokka, and that's more than he could ever ask. More than he could even wish for.
