Summary
On the eve of his banishment, Zuko's reality was uprooted. He faced a long road to healing that forced him to change his perspective on his home country and family. When the Gaang meets Zuko, hiding in the Si Wong desert, they are met with a confusing mix of deception and loyalty. As Zuko slowly comes out of hiding, he must face old enemies and discover what balance really means for himself and his people.

Zuko has been traveling with the Avatar gaang for three weeks, five days, and, if he’s honest, far too many emotionally compromising group bonding moments.
Not used to sharing campfires without suspicion. Not used to laughter that isn’t sharp-edged or cruel. Not used to people standing close to him without flinching. And he is definitely not used to being grabbed.
Unfortunately, Sokka has decided Zuko’s survival depends on fixing that. With firebending off the table, Sokka, self-proclaimed “tactical genius,” has taken it upon himself to teach him non-bending close-quarters combat.
Specifically: grappling.
Specifically: using Zuko as a demonstration dummy.
Zuko hates it...He absolutely hates it.
There is nothing dignified about being shoved, pinned, or manhandled mid-argument, and nothing strategic about the way Sokka keeps finding his wrists, shoulders, waist…
This is a problem...A serious problem...And Zuko is handling it very normally.
