Summary
After the Battle of the Five Armies, Bilbo stays in Erebor and slowly finds a place for himself to fit in. As more dwarrow move back to the mountain and daily life resumes, Thorin has pushback from the older council members to find a Consort or his One before his coronation. He accepts every person who proposes courtship. Each suitor must complete a series of tasks to prove they are worthy and should be Thorin’s Consort. After frustration takes hold, Bilbo offers his help to the king, and they both discover something about themselves through the adventure.

Summary
“Baby Bird?” Jason’s voice shifted, softened into something almost fragile, as if he were speaking to a child. Maybe, in his eyes, Tim was exactly that. The familiar nickname—so wrong, so tender—sent a tremor down Tim’s spine. Jason never called him that. Jason never spoke to him with warmth.
Jason hated Tim.
He shut his eyes tight, praying this was just a cruel dream. But then warm hands cupped his face, grounding him. A metallic clatter echoed through the cave, sharp and final. The gun had hit the floor.
“No, no, no—don’t close those blue eyes, Baby Bird. Look at me,” this time Jason’s voice cracked into a plea. Every word trembled with fear, with a need that made Tim’s chest tighten painfully. Tim bit down on a sob, the taste of salt and blood filling his mouth, forcing himself to lift his gaze and meet the toxic green fire of Jason’s eyes once more. He could feel the tremor in Jason’s hands, the way his knees pressed into the cold floor, and it made his own body ache with tension.

"I focused."
"That's not the same thing." Harry stopped moving, standing at the foot of the bed now, close enough to see the way Tom's chest rose and fell, slightly too fast.
Tom leaned forward slightly, bracing an elbow on his knee, looking at Harry with infuriating intensity. The movement made him wince—just barely—and Harry's stomach clenched. "I needed clarity. The tasks demand it. If I let myself get distracted—"
Harry's stomach dropped. "Distracted?"
Tom didn't flinch. "Yes."
Harry swallowed hard. "By what?"
No answer.
Harry's voice turned quiet, dangerous. "By me."
Still nothing.
Tom didn't deny it.
Their post task argument left a silence heavier than any curse. Harry knows he’s lonely without Tom—but what does ‘them’ even mean?
