The kid smiled, showing full rows of teeth. Behind him, like out of an absurd action movie of old, a giant stingray burst out of the blue surface, as large as a 3-storey building. The splash it caused almost washed Lee Sanghyeok and Choi Hyeonjoon away.
"You see," Moon Hyeonjoon proclaimed grandly, "I'm the Lord of Stingrays."

Choi Hyeonjun rolled his eyes. “I don’t care! This is fun!” He dropped Moon Hyeonjoon’s hand and stepped back, tilted his body backwards, and swung his arm around. The rose was tucked neatly in his inside pocket. “Look, I’m the inflatable balloon man!”
Moon Hyeonjoon covered his face with his hands. “Oh my god, you’re crazy. You’re driving me crazy.”

Choi Hyeonjun found himself staring at Moon Hyeonjoon’s face, transfixed by the look in his eyes. He thought, not for the first time, that Moon Hyeonjoon looked like something from a dream.
The younger took a step back and held out his hand. He even bowed a little.
The next sentence was supposed to be said like a joke, but Moon Hyeonjoon’s tone told him it was something heavier than that, something realer.
“Choi Hyeonjun, will you dance with me?”

Lee Sanghyeok asked distractedly, also watching Choi Hyeonjoon’s retreating back, “What, that he’d run away?”
“No, that he’d crashed into the trash can. That specific trash can.”

Megumi at the entrance ceremony, clicking his tongue at him, lip curled, when Satoru bumped into him while trying to catch up to Suguru, saying, Watch where you’re going; Megumi looking up at the second floor art room where Satoru was calling out for him and frowning and scowling; Megumi asking, while they lined up for curry bread, How do you know my name?, lip curled upwards, while Satoru laughed, We met at the entrance ceremony, Megumi! before Megumi left without even hearing his answer.
