Summary
“It wasn’t too upsetting?” Yue Qingyuan asks anxiously, his eyes searching over Shen Qingqiu’s face. “If it was bad, then we don’t need to do it again.”
He keeps asking over and over again if it was too much, as if Shen Qingqiu hadn’t asked for it, and as if he’s acting like he disliked it at all. One might almost begin to wonder if Yue Qingyuan thought it was upsetting. But why should he be upset? Nothing was done to him. All he did was hold Shen Qingqiu down and have his way with him, not even needing to be sweet, soft, or considerate. If anything, shouldn’t he have enjoyed it even more than usual? He got to be selfish.
Of course, Yue Qingyuan is never selfish. He’s always been an insufferable goodie two shoes like that.

Summary
Days pass, and all goes as it should. Shen Yuan drinks her tea in the morning and the evening, humming with approval and licking her lips to chase the taste once she’s done. As oblivious and unsuspecting as a deer in the sights of a hunter, trustingly drinking whatever is handed to her. Ridiculous. She is fortunate that Shen Qingqiu wishes her no ill will.
He quietly stops bothering to pour a cup for himself, something which is barely noted upon.
“It is too sweet,” is all he says upon questioning, before he adds, “I still have some left over, however. I will continue to brew it for you.”
“Ah, would you?” Shen Yuan asks, brightening up a little. Pleased to be doted on. “Sorry if that’s inconvenient, but honestly that’s some of the best tea you’ve gotten your hands on yet. What’s it called?”
It is an idle, incurious question. Shen Qingqiu deals with it appropriately.
“I do not recall,” is what he says and, “I will look into it.”
Shen Yuan hums an affirmative, and that is that. She does not remember to ask again.

Summary
“So,” he says, “what are you going to do for me?”
“What?” Ming Fan asks stupidly.
“For me to answer your questions,” Zhao De reminds him, speaking slowly and clearly, as if to a simpleton. “You want to find your shidi, don’t you? I’ll tell you, if you can come up with some way you could be of use…”
It’s beginning to feel like Zhao De has something in mind, something he wants Ming Fan to suggest. It’s an anxiety-inducing feeling, like he’s failing a test, or too stupid to get something even when the teacher is hinting at the correct answer.
“Like what?” Ming Fan asks, giving up all at once.

With a dubious, reluctant do I really have to? air, Mobei-Jun does just that. It’d been clear that he’d been having a good time, with his dark, hazy, blissed out eyes and softening expression like melting ice - so blissed out, in fact, that he’d entirely missed Shang Qinghua’s jaw clenched with pain and how he’d barely been breathing! But he does still obey, getting out of Shang Qinghua as ordered. Even that movement hurts, making Shang Qinghua hiss and clutch at the sheets white knuckled, but it’s necessary for his torment to end.
When Mobei-Jun is fully out of him, he frowns down at the space between Shang Qinghua’s legs.
“Is it supposed to be bleeding?” he asks.

“Give it back!” Shiwu cries, swiping for them. He’s younger than Shen Jiu, and so he easily leans back and holds the money out of his reach.
“Give it back?” Shen Jiu asks, looking down at him like he’s a filthy cockroach. It feels good getting to look at someone like that, like he’s not the dirtiest person in the world. “How about you give it back? Aren’t you the one who’s pathetic enough to steal from a stupid little toddler?”
“I didn’t steal it!” Shiwu says. “Xiao-Qi gave it to me - right, Xiao-Qi?”
“That’s right,” Yue Qi agrees, looking up at Shen Jiu earnestly. “It’s okay, Jiu-ge. I want him to have it.”
No one but this fool would think to call Shen Jiu something like that. Ridiculous.

In the end, the protagonist had his revenge on his shizun - reducing the proud and elegant Xiu Ya sword to a human stick with all his limbs torn and one eye gouged out.
