Summary
Batman theorises this: while Mind Master is doing the same motions in the physical world, they're not having the same impact.
Batman's body is armoured and being attacked by a man of fairly average strength. But Batman's mind is being attacked by a man with a very powerful psychic weapon, and that's the assault he's feeling the pain from.
But, if Mind Master doesn't let up, the state of his physical body won't matter much anyway.
So Batman keeps his fist clenched and — with much difficulty — raises his arm to at least do something other than lying there and taking it—
Only for the barrage of pain to stop as Mind Master is tackled off of him by a ball of garish colour.

Her children. If the woman's children are at home unsupervised at least one of them could answer a phone call. It's not a guarantee in Gotham but the chance of one of them being able to answer the ringtone of a mobile or a landline is at least 50 and—
Bleeding out alone, it shouldn't— there should be someone there.
"Is there a phone number you can reach them on?"
He's scared he spoke too quietly until she answers with a shaky yes.
Trembling, she cries as she tries to grasp the phone in her pocket until Batman gently lifts it out himself. Scrolling to E gives him no recognition but at L he finds a Lizzie with a heart and a sun next to her name attached to a profile picture that shows the woman and a grinning child.
Both of them look happy in the photo. There's a silver medal around Lizzie's neck that her mother is lifting to the camera with pride. There's a running track behind them and the intricacy of the prize implies it's an official competition. He wonders how many races she'll miss in her grief, how many she might run with her mother absent in the audience.
Two clicks and music rushes into the alley, desperate to fill the air with a sound other than hopeless gasping.

"I think we should invest in a radio." Orion says, what Jimmy estimates to be, twenty minutes later.
Jimmy doesn't even bother to look up at him, "with what money?"
"Well you're a superhero, I'm a criminal, we could probably scrape some together." he shrugs.
"But why would we need a radio?"
"Well this isn't that interesting is it?"
His brain lags, "what isn't—? Hold on, we're not going to be stuck here forever!"
"We could be, and that's why we should have a radio!
“We won’t— what would we even do with a radio?” Jimmy asks exasperatedly.
“Listen to the radio?”
Ah. Jimmy guesses it's his turn to look like an idiot.
“I knew that.” he hisses.
Orion laughs.
“Stop it!”
Orion laughs harder, “sorry just— ‘what would we do with a radio’— ha.”
Jimmy’s face flushes, “stop! I’ve been stuck in a room with you for who knows how long, it’s a reasonable response!”

Summary
"Learning is the greatest adventure," Donnie mumbles, "but alright, what do I need to do?"
Leo holds the paper out to him, "Read this— I mean, read the words written on this parchment Donatello the Wise."
He leans forwards and squints at the ink, wishing he'd sat closer to his brother when the words blur together at the edges.
"Um," he squints harder, " When you feel like it's the dragon?" He says, voice filled with uncertainty.
Raph laughs, "What? Donnie can you not— wait."
Leo turns the paper back to him, "I'm pretty sure that's not what it says."

Summary
The next words he says though are, “So what do you guys sell?" Which makes sense when you know that instead of reading it, he flipped the menu over to the blank side as if he could somehow decipher a hidden message there.
"Um," Jimmy blinked, eyebrows slightly raised in confusion, "bakery stuff?"
"Okay I'll have four of that."
"What–?"
Gem shoves the first thing she can see into his hands, smiling sweetly but eyes scanning Joel in suspicion, "Just take some bread twists."
"Can I get salt with that or–"
"Who puts salt on bread?" Grian exclaims, sounding personally offended.
"Normal people?" Joel states like it's a fact, raising his eyebrows.
"You are not a normal person Joel."
"Rude," he mutters before turning back to Gem, "So, salt–?"
"No." She answers flatly, taking the bread from him and running it through the register. "Now you can go, bye!" She says in a friendly voice, face depicting the opposite, as she hands him a receipt.
"I didn't pay but okay." He shrugs, this time completing his goal of walking out the door.
