Summary
Eddie can’t move. Can’t even think, because he’s staring into this stranger’s eyes and the stranger is staring back. He’s looking at Eddie with recognition, with surprise and then confusion and then joy, and he fucking smiles. Face smeared with dirt, eyes shining like he’s just seen something incredible, something impossible and -
A hand cups Eddie’s cheek. Trembling, warm and broad, soft skin against the scar tissue on his jaw. A thumb brushing over his cheekbone - gentle, reverent.
“It’s you,” the man whispers. His voice cracks, uneven but sweet. “Eddie.”

Summary
Four more people come stumbling through the doors - a short-haired girl in camouflage with a kid wearing what looks like the top half of a ghillie suit on her back, the kid hollering at the top of his lungs for a doctor like he’s on the brink of death. The reporter grabs the short-haired girl, stopping her from running directly into a frozen onlooker because she’s busy looking over her shoulder at a boy in a leather jacket right behind her, his face pulled tight with pain as he carries a limp, unmoving body, their head tipped back, pale face smeared with blood in the unforgiving halogen lights -
“Help him!” the kid is screaming, “Somebody, please -”

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
[I sit with Eddie Munson on his balcony as he brushes his dog. Each handful of fur he gathers, of which there is a surprising amount, is placed carefully into a small, spherical frame made of twisted wire. He tells me there is a small family of pigeons living just below their upstairs neighbors balcony, and he’s been enlisted in improving the conditions of their nest. The wire frame is of his own creation, specifically for storing of potential nesting materials.]

Summary
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
[Eddie Munson is 15 minutes late to our scheduled interview. He is intensely apologetic as he ushers me up to his third-floor apartment in the recently-rebuilt neighborhood of Andersonville. For someone of his celebrity status - both pre- and post-war - the space is surprisingly modest, with little hinting at his previous life as a member of Corroded Coffin bar a few framed records and a battered red Warlock mounted on the wall.]

The Interviewer sits down to speak to with Eddie Munson about the early days of the War.

Summary
When Shane reluctantly agreed to kick off his MLH career with a photoshoot, he imagined, somewhat vaguely, a hockey uniform and some dramatic lighting on the rink. Shoot a few pucks. Pose intensely. That kind of thing.
The marketing agency, apparently, had other ideas.
A plane flight gone wrong, a desperate crash landing, and suddenly hockey’s two brightest young stars find themselves stranded in the heart of the Canadian wilderness. With no way home and no rescue coming, they only have one hope for survival -- each other.

Summary
“I used to be so mad that she was gone sometimes, but it’s okay. I forgive her. I would forgive her every time.”
Something in Yuna’s eyes fractures, like a bird bone under the sole of a shoe. “Your mother is very lucky, then.”
“Yuna,” Ilya says, and he tries very hard to not look at Shane, to not see the unforgiving, enduring hurt in his eyes when he looks over at his mother, so far away from her that he can’t come home, even though he desperately wants to. He looks at Yuna instead, and somehow, even as he braces against the ice-cold concrete and lets the sound of the whistling wind settle in his ears and has been looking at her for a long time now, he finds himself entirely unprepared for familiar Yuna’s eyes will be when she turns her gaze from the distant streetlamp to him. “You’re very lucky too.”
Shane Hollander is a ghost with a comatose body that won't work, unable to move on because his mom won't come visit him. Ilya Rozanov is the only person who can see and hear him, and against all odds, this is still a love story.
