The war is over.
He turns it over and over in his head, trying to make himself believe it.
The war, the Jedi, even the Republic. All the things the clones were made for. Over and dead and gone. And where does that leave them now?
Fireball certainly doesn’t know. What he wants has never mattered before. He’s not sure what he’ll do if it matters now. But so far that if is still as far off as ever. The choice between kill or die sure doesn’t feel like much of one.
His brother doesn't think so. There’s always a choice, he says. Until they put wires in our heads.

Summary
Sixteen months after the fall of the Republic, a training sergeant escapes Kamino and contacts the clone rebellion for help. The mission: rescue seven cadets with defective control chips before they're turned over to the Empire for experimentation.
Some are hesitant to accept a mission with so many risks, so many unknowns.
For Echo, there's no doubt that saving the cadets is the right thing to do.

Kix walks off the transport onto the Resolute, heart in his throat, wanting to save his brothers.
And Cody, doesn't tell us when he wakes up, but he's out for blood. Anyone's will do.The clones wake up at the beginning of the war with their memories. There are a lot of feelings, and plans about it. They certainly aren't going to wait for the Jedi to do anything about it.

Almost three years into the Clone Wars, Riyo Chuchi began to suspect Chancellor Palpatine was hiding something. She snuck into his office, successfully obtained damning evidence, assembled a coalition of senators, then went to the Jedi Council to seek their aid in ousting the Sith Master. She never expected they'd elect her as his replacement.
As soon as Chancellor Chuchi was elected, Fox volunteered to be assigned to her personal protection. He'd spent far too long protecting someone who didn't deserve it, it felt good to serve someone worthy of devotion.

I’d locked eyes with Mensah, looking like that. My energy weapons had deployed, without my awareness or direction. My targeting systems had identified her and Bharadwaj, quite insistently, as direct and immediate threats.
Maybe this is just a temporary, dangerous, system glitch, and a hard restart will fix me. I’ll just restart, comb through my code, do some debugging, find the corrupted files or whatever, and then I won’t indiscriminately murder my most trusted humans.
I should know by now to always assume the worst.
In which SecUnit is having some survival threat…response errors. And some…’targeting its humans’ malfunctions. And some…blackouts when restarting. I’m sure it’s fine.
