The most important things are the hardest things to say...
Bio
... they are the things you get ashamed of because words diminish your feelings - words shrink things that seem timeless when they are in your head to no more than living size when they are brought out.
- Stephen King.
Despite the quote above being about 'speech', I think Mr King sums up writing (and reading) pretty well, don't you?
Writers strive for authenticity - to infuse text with meaning and emotion so potent that it whispers back to the reader's experiences of being human, to reassure: 'Hey, it's okay. You are not alone'. And yet, at the same time, text can never fully represent human experience - we are more than lettering on a page, or screen.
Nevertheless, we persist. We keep striving. We don't give up.
So, whether you are a reader or a writer, or indeed both, you are not alone.
Fandoms I've dipped into: Star Trek Voyager (my OTP, Janeway/Chakotay), Battlestar Galactica (Roslin/Adama), Stargate Atlantis (Sparky), Downton Abbey (Chelsie).
