“This is absurd,” she murmured.
Rhaenyra glanced sideways, smiling. “You say that like it’s a bad thing.”
“It is when I’m letting a stranger reorganize my kitchen.”
“Please,” Rhaenyra said, rinsing another plate. “You like it.”
Alicent only needed her brother to watch Helaena for an afternoon. Not for him to send a stranger in his place. But Rhaenyra Targaryen shows up at her door all the same, smiling like she belongs there. Alicent doesn’t expect her to be beautiful. She doesn’t expect her to be good with Helaena. And she definitely doesn’t expect her to stay for dinner.

Rhaenyra finally blinked her eyes open and Alicent could feel the shift before she saw it. A lazy smile curved against her skin. “Then be late.”
Alicent’s toddler is sick, her morning is chaos--and Rhaenyra is still in her apartment, half dressed from their one night stand.
