Summary

Summary
Jon Snow leaves the ashes of King’s Landing, once more bound for the Night’s Watch. His oath-breaking siblings and their treasonous Lannister collaborator thought him a broken spirit, a man resigned to fate’s horizon, world-weary and defeated. But they’d forgotten that Jon Snow’s heart was indomitable. They’d forgotten that even death had not stopped the White Wolf.
In which Jon knows his own worth. Instead of swearing his vows, he goes beyond the Wall with the free folk, to the only lands he’s ever felt he truly belonged in.

“But you don’t love me, boy,” Tormund answered. It was cruel, but it was better than let these delusions stand. He softened his voice. “I would have kept you, were I a lesser man. But she is right. And you know that I am right when I say, you belong with her.”
“True,” Jon acknowledged. “You were also right when you said that I should go north, that only here is where I can be happy. And I will come back, I swear; we will. And until then, I want to remember.”
This, Tormund couldn’t argue with.

The northern lords and ladies, led by Sansa, made two simple mistakes. They didn't manage to kill Jon the night after crowning him their King; and they did crown him. Jon was a shadow, happy to let them face the Night King on their own. Daenerys, though? She was vengeful enough for both of them.
