Summary
It started with a good idea. A very generous one, which read something along the lines of: hey, B has been looking really tired lately! You should try and take care of that gang stuff on your own so he can deal with Scarecrow! Surely you can handle that Tim!
And because it was a generous idea, and gifts weren’t really gifts if you made a big deal out of giving them, he decided not to tell Bruce.

Since Bruce came back from the time stream three months ago, Tim has been tired, angry, and high on his caffeine-Red Bull monstrosity as he juggles his CEO and vigilante personas without a moment of reprieve. The lives of the Waynes are going on normally, while his time has forced itself to a standstill, his body moving from mission to mission so as not to notice the surrounding silence.
That's exactly how Tim finds himself in a hideout in Iraq, strapped to an electrocution chair that's being powered by a 9-year-old.
