Everyone had been sure Dean would be an alpha. He was very protective over his brother, he handled every argument well in the community, which made him a great leader and, well, he was also big and strong for a boy his age.
Some speculated beta, just because he didn't force his opinion on others.Nobody had even imagined he would be an omega. Sure, Dean was often found taking care of the younger children and he was always mother-henning Sam, but male omegas were so incredibly rare that no one had thought of it. Male omegas were a mutation. They were useless, according to the Angels and they were sex slaves according to Demons. They were to be pitied according to Humans.

Felix revels in the close contact until Chan buries his nose in Felix’s hair and takes the most dramatic, deep inhale. It’s like he’s trying to see if he can suck up Felix’s hair with his nose to tickle his brain.
“Are you smelling me?”
“You smell nice,” Chan says, taking another exaggerated sniff. Felix can’t really imagine how he’d smell nice, after a day out dancing followed by a restaurant visit. Felix pulls his sleeve to his face to see what Chan is talking about. He gets a nose full of smokey, meaty, fried cotton, under it lingers the scent of Chan’s detergent. “I smell like barbecue.”
“Yeah, like I said,” He buries his nose in Felix’s shoulder. “Nice.”

Summary
Jaskier is not what anyone would call a traditional alpha, and certainly not the kind of alpha anyone would want for a mate. And he is quite surprised to unceremoniously discover that Geralt, his companion of many years, is in fact an omega. Geralt and his fellow witchers repress their heats until they arrive at Kaer Morhen for the winter. This year, since Jaskier’s rut is starting at just the right time, Geralt invites Jaskier to come along. Jaskier thinks he knows what to expect when partnering an omega in heat, but the situation at Kaer Morhen thoroughly wrecks his expectations.
